June is Men's Health Month

June is Men’s Health month. The goal is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems among men and boys. This month gives people an opportunity to encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury.
Many people fail to realize that mental health is a crucial component to our physical health and overall well-being. Unfortunately, the stigma behind mental health services or certain cultural beliefs have swayed boys and men from seeking out mental health services.
The images below illustrate how males are in fact affected by mental health illness and how common it is. Among some of the most common issues that men suffer from include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis and schizophrenia, and eating disorders.
At living hope we offer assistance to males of all ages for the issues listed above, as well as anger management, relationship issues, and much more! Don’t let your male ego get in the way of getting the help you need to be mentally strong and healthy.
